Awasi Atacama Desert Lodge & Spa

Inspired by Pre-Inca ruins located outside San Pedro de Atacama, the hotel has 12 Suites built of stone, adobe and wood, with thatched roofs. Measuring over 50 square meters, the suites are self-contained havens where you can unwind, relax and rest.

Each of the Suites contains comfortable lounge chairs, large bathrooms and open out onto private open-air patios with solarium designed for relaxation, privacy and a well-deserved rest.

The hotel Relais & Chateaux open-air Restaurant offers Andean cuisine featuring unique flavours from the world’s driest desert, using typical ingredients of the area which are part of the staples used by the native people.

The onsite restaurant offers its guests and incredible experience with local produce from the desert and surrounding regions. Influenced by the deserts surroundings and connecting its guests to the atacama desert through its unique ingredients picked from the desert; chilean influence. All cuisines at the restaurant are prepared by an incredible Chef who uses only locally sourced products.

The hotel arranges tailor-made outings. At Awasi, excursions are 100% private, exclusive, and are programmed according to preferences and pace of each guest. A private guide helps plan trips and will accompany guests on these ventures. Excursions to enjoy easy strolls or intense treks for the more adventurous, horseback riding, bicycle rides, visits to archaeological sites, the salt flats, Altiplano lagoons or villages hidden among the deep valleys.

Moreover, Awasi foundation also provides its guests with an insight into the local community and gives them a cultural experience, which makes travellers more aware and helps the local community. Additionally, Awasi is carbon neutral, they protect around 340 hectares of native woodland in Iguazú and Patagonia. These areas absorb around over 10,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. This amount is greater than the emissions generated by three of their own lodges, including the travel emissions of their own guests.
