You are invited to attend the recently renovated ‘THE DON’ bar and restaurant for a spot of sumptuous dining and lavish catering. The spacious, open air feel of the restaurant is perfect for midday dining with friends and family, with locally inspired cuisine, classic western crowd pleasers and everything in-between, there is much to enjoy. A lush, tropical garden lies in full view just outside, along with one of the largest swimming pools in Curacao, complimenting any meal with an atmospheric touch.

Reservations are required. When dining, you have 2 hours to enjoy your meal and you can order from the table via a tablet. During lunch and dinner, you can order 4 dishes per round – of which there are unlimited rounds. Desserts are included on the menu, but drinks must be bought separately. Inside THE DON and outside at the adjacent swimming pool, a variety of spectacular tropical cocktails are readily available on demand.

Food waste is a prevalent issue which needs to be accounted for. THE DON is an all you can dine restaurant, not all you can waste. For every unfinished dish there is a $3 charge added to your bill.

Donny’s Happy Hour is every Wednesday from 17:00 – 19:00. With delicious handmade burgers on sale for only 5 Antillean guilder (ANG) and 50% off beer & wine. Donny’s Happy Snack Hour is every Friday from 16:00 – 18:00. For only 10 Antillean guilder (ANG) you get a croquette, crunchy fries and a can of Polar beer.

Mermaid Boat Tours set sail from the southeast coast of Curacao to Klein Curacao (meaning Little Curacao in Dutch) that lies only 15 miles away. Here, pristine white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and vibrant sea life await you, along with some of the most striking sights of the Caribbean on route. Transit to Klein Curacao takes only two hours from Spanish Waters. The Mermaid, a robust sea-faring vessel, awaits passengers at the Fishermen’s Pier every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday mornings at 6:45am. Upon boarding the Mermaid, you are greeted with tea and coffee. Captain Cor and his crew create a great atmosphere that makes you feel welcome.

Sailing along the southern coat of Curacao, you can see Fuik, Duivelsklip and Oostpunt, a completely inaccessible region of Curaçao where access is restricted to aid in wildlife preservation. From there, the Mermaid turns southward and heads out into the blue sea, towards Klein Curacao. If you’re lucky, you might see the dolphins that occasionally swim beside the ship.

The sight of a lighthouse and an old shipwreck marks your arrival at Klein Curacao. Once the Mermaid drops anchor, you’re free to swim in tropical waters, explore the island and its many historical attractions and engage in various water-bound activities. Klein Curacao is a tropical paradise and a haven for snorkelers and scuba divers. Morning and afternoon rubber-dinghy drift diving provides the ultimate tropical diving experience, complete with striking coral formations, a vertical drop off and a couple of underwater caves to explore.

Aboard the Mermaid, conditions are clean and sanitary, including well maintained toilet facilities. After working up an appetite, a fantastic buffet lunch at the beach house awaits you, comprising chicken, pork chops, corn on the cob, salads and fruits, prepared to perfection. Beer, wine, juices and soft drinks are provided, though alcohol is charged at additional fees.

Sail with the Jonalisa to Klein Curacao, the paradise island with crystal clear water, white beaches and sea turtles. Set Sail on the Jonalisa for a half day sightseeing tour, starting with a marine excursion into Spanish waters where the sights of beautiful villas and yachts await you. Following this, you will sail along the breath-taking Curacao south-coast where there will be two stops for Snorkelling activities. Your first stop is the famous Tugboat wreck, followed by a spot of lunch. Shortly thereafter, you have the opportunity to join a guided Snorkelling-safari at Curacao’s National Underwater Park. What better way to soak in the atmosphere of the Caribbean than with a live swim inside an authentic dolphin habitat? Interactions with dolphins is an intimate and rich experience. The dolphins will decide who they wish to swim alongside. Then, you will learn how to engage the dolphins’ trained behaviors through various signals. The experience last 1.5 hours, with 30-minutes spent in the water with the dolphins. You must be at least 8 years old to partake and a minimum height of 4.3 feet (1.30 metres/51 inches). The Explorer’s Dive, commonly referred to as the ‘Beauty Run’ takes you on a tour around one of the most beautiful and visually striking areas of reef in the vicinity. Here, you can see beautiful sponges and sea fans illuminated by the protruding sunlight. Descending to a depth of 500ft (152 metres), you will see two small shipwrecks through the large submarine windows. Come and experience the Beauty Run for yourself.

Feel the adventure for yourself with the aptly named Adventure Dive, a deep diving marine excursion in which you can explore the west side of the house reef from up to a depth of 1000ft! (305 metres) All from the comfort and security of the Curasub. Utterly amazing underwater spectacles await you, such as various deep water fish species that few people have ever seen before. Ascending from the depths, you will explore the beautiful Stella Maris shipwreck, once a 300 ft long freighter which has now evolved into an artificial reef.

The Adrenalin dive offers a high-octane delve into the depth of the Curacao ocean-bed. Aboard the Curasub, you will descend to the depth of 450ft (137 metres) in the deepest dive offered. While protected from the crushing pressure of the surrounding ocean, you will pass the Stella Maris shipwreck, a once 300ft long vessel now resting on the sea floor for three decades. Delving deeper, further wonders of the deep sea await your gaze. So come and see for yourself.

Depart for the beaten track and explore the areas of Curacao usually inaccessible by foot for a rugged, off-road island tour of a lifetime. This 4×4 island adventure is suitable for seasoned quad bikers and first-timers alike, with guided supervision, this is a favoured mode of transport around the picturesque tropical landscape. Curacao jeep safaris allow you to explore the far reaches of the island, perfectly suited to the rugged off-road terrain in the elevated regions where the views of the land are pristine.
