Ti Kaye Resort grow all of their own herbs and flowers on site for use in-site. Their menus are focused on supporting local suppliers and utilising local produce. This approach has multiple benefits, such as all fruit, vegetables and salad stuffs are of the freshest possible quality being produced locally, and a dependence on local suppliers allows local economies to grow with local trade.
The Kai Koko Spa features an organic product line using local St. Lucia ingredients with 80% of the products being coconut based. With the majority of spa products being derived from natural, locally sourced products and ingredients, a spa session at Ti Kaye is an experience as unique as it is as good to the environment.
Ti Kaye Resort & Spa was constructed with St Lucia’s natural landscape in mind. The environment and ecosystems of the island are considered one of the most important responsibilities of the resort, and so, measures are taken to protect the beauty of the island for all to enjoy. Green initiatives concern the reduction of waste and the utilisation of natural, renewable resources wherever possible.
In an effort to curve the consumption of plastic water bottles, Ti Kaye resort provides free, purified water from a well to all staying guests. Water is produced for the resort, by the resort, using a brackish well and reverse-osmosis desalination plant. This water is safe to drink and sustainably sourced.
In February 2016, Ti Kaye Resort & Spa partnered with Our Planet in order to commence the Ti Kaye Hotel Recycling Initiative, the first of its kind in Saint Lucia. The resort now recycles up to 80% of the waste from all major hotels on Saint Lucia, ensuring as little waste is sent to island landfills as possible while setting a benevolent standard for other island resorts to follow.
Ti Kaye have removed the vast majority of single use plastics from their restaurants. Takeaway containers, drink stirrers, cutlery and straws are now all fully compostable and do not pose the same threat to local ecosystems as their plastic counterparts. Initiatives such as this serve an important role in conserving the sensitive marine life and landscapes that encompass the island, as single use plastics do not degrade overtime and pose serious ecological issues.
Ti Kaye have revolutionised their energy consumption by installing LED lights across the entire property and retrofitting all AC units to inverter type ACs. A total of 45 kWs of grid are tied to solar PVs which have reduced the resorts energy bill by 10%, with a planned expansion of an additional 200 kWs. Insulation is currently receiving an upgrade throughout the property, allowing for more appropriate internal temperatures throughout the year. Solar hot water heaters have also been installed throughout 50% of the resort. Combined, all of these practices have reduced their energy consumption by 33% to date.
Ti Kaye Resort & Spa welcomes all guests aged 18 years and older. Children are not welcome.
