Galapagos Safari Camp

The Luxury Safari Tents are covered by layers of canvas for comfort and shelter. Each tent features a private balcony deck with hammock perfect to relax after a day of exploring. These stylish rooms are decorated in safari-style simplicity and feature electrical sockets and en-suite bathrooms. Tents can be set as double, twin or triple.

Ideal for those travelling with younger children, the Family Suite sleeps  up to six. It features 2 floors, a master bedroom and two twin rooms, all with their own bathrooms. The suite is secluded from the rest of the camp for additional privacy and has an extra large deck.

A four-course tasting menu offers guests the opportunity to savour the very best of Ecuadorian cuisine, with a mix of local recipes and traditional dishes, using locally-sourced products whenever possible. A worthy wine list offers a trip through South American wines to complement the experience.

Dinner is available al fresco on the veranda or indoors at their long, hardwood table. Whether lounging at the pool, enjoying conversation and drinks at the Viewpoint or by the fireplace, or even playing a quiet game of chess, Staff are always on hand to care for your needs and answer your queries.

All dietary requirements and allergies are catered for including vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free.

Explorer’s Picnic – a private picnic surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the island, all ready and waiting for you when you arrive back from your adventures.

Catch your dinner – an artisan fishing experience where the hotel’s culinary staff can prepare your day’s catch for dinner whichever way you prefer – steamed in a leaf, battered, fried, baked or raw as sashimi or sushi.

Classic Safari – a land- based Safari that combines explorations of nearby uninhabited islands with adventures and discoveries on the Santa Cruz Island.

Family Safari – designed to keep all of the family happy, stimulated and engaged at all times.

Dive Safari – a combination of exciting dives to nearby sites as well as exploration on land, a wonderful taste of the Galapagos’ wonders both on land and at sea.

Isabela Island Extension – a safari on Santa Cruz Island combined with a short-stay on Isabela island, allowing you to compare the beauty of these two magnificent islands.

Pre- and Post- Cruise Safari – an option to either relax at the Camp or explore Santa Cruz in more depth, these Galapagos Extensions are a perfect accompaniment to a Galapagos cruise. Scuba diving excursions are also available before a cruise.

Galapagos Safari Camp are responsible members of the Galapagos community. They fulfil their commitment by creating a network of local suppliers, supporting local households and helping strengthen the local economy in a sustainable way.

A pool of over one hundred suppliers are involved in creating and delivering the experiences that will make every safari a life-changing one, while happily sharing their knowledge with guests.

At the camp, 60% of the dedicated staff anticipate every guests’ needs and are also our neighbours in the nearby Santa Rosa community, and some of them also supply the Camp with fresh produce.

Galapagos Safari Camp regularly cooperate with local schools. When guests request it -usually families with young children- the Camp can arrange “meet&greets” that allow local and tourist kids have fun together around a ball game or planting trees as part of their reforestation program.

The Camp strongly believe that environmental education and awareness are the key to the sustainability of the Galapagos, and take every opportunity to support like-minded organisations and projects.

In favour of Galapagos’ Provincial Government’s decisions to restrict the use of certain plastics — including plastic straws, single-use plastic bags (t-shirt type), polythene containers (such as those used for takeaways), and plastic bottles in 2018, Galapagos Safari Camp urge guests to support their efforts to minimise the use of plastics on the island.

All the Camp’s guests are provided with their own aluminium water bottles which they can fill up at any time at the Camp.

Galapagos Safari Camp have a commitment to reduce consumption of water and energy by a more efficient use, turning to technology to help work towards this goal. They have put in place a cutting- edge water treatment procedure which ensures that their rainwater collection system is perfectly safe for human consumption, reducing our dependency on desalinised water.

In addition to this, they use low intensity and low consumption lighting, solar panels for hot water and intelligent design to render AC superfluous, guaranteeing a more responsible use of electricity. All guests are encouraged to join in with this mindful approach towards water an energy use.

Galapagos Safari Camp have a mission to preserve the unique vegetation of the Islands by eradicating introduced and invasive species such as the blackberry. They strive to recover as many native species as possible.

The strategic location of the Camp means it acts as a buffer zone for the nearby National Park. The Camp has worked with the Charles Darwin Research Station, the Galapagos National Park and Conservation International in the reforestation of endemic species onto the Island, such as scalesia and palo santo.
