Inyati Game Lodge

The Chalets at Inyati Game Lodge are stylish and modern. A chic interior flows throughout the room, with oversized curtains, a soft colour palette, and mahogany furniture. An exposed thatch ceiling adds authenticity and dimension to the room, making it feel warm and welcoming. A king-size four-poster bed sits in the middle of the room, covered in crisp white bedding, and romantically swathed in mosquito netting.

Large sliding doors fill the spacious room with bright and natural light and open onto a private verandah area, where guests can unwind with a drink from the in-room minibar and gaze out over the luscious Mala Mala bush.

All chalets come with a luxuriously appointed en-suite bathroom which includes twin hand basins, a toilet, a large shower, and a deep bathtub where guests can enjoy a relaxing soak after a long day exploring.

The family chalets are elegant and luxurious. The chalets can accommodate up to one king-size bed and two single beds, all of which are covered in white bed linens, and are draped in mosquito netting for a bug-free night.

A seating area divides the two bed arrangements, and includes a cosy sofa and two modern tub armchairs. Sliding doors on two sides of the chalet fill the space with bright and natural light – and when open – fresh South African breezes. The ensuite bathroom includes a twin hand basin, a toilet, a walk-in shower and a large stone feature bathtub.

Guests can spend the evening on their private verandah, relaxing as a family with a drink from the mini-bar or tea and coffee maker while staring over the luscious trees and stretches of rolling grassland.

Guests can make their way to the large dining hall at mealtimes. This hall offers exceptional views over the treetops all the way to the horizon. The food served is delicious and gourmet, and can be paired with refreshing drinks or a selection of fine wines.

Candlelit dinners under the setting sun can be arranged for guests, or you can gather around the crackling fire pit for a unique fire-side meal.

Travel through the Mala Mala Game Reserve in an open-top 4×4 safari vehicle. A highly trained guide will be able to take you to all the best areas to spot wildlife. This is a traditional safari activity, and the perfect way to get up close and personal with the wonderful animals, yet still without disturbing them.

Head out on an early morning game drive and immerse yourself in the stunning nature of the reserve. With a friendly and knowledgeable guide, find out about the micro-ecosystems of the area, and enjoy the smaller things such as animal prints and insect life which may be missed on a game drive.

With fishing equipment provided by the lodge, guests can make their way to the Sand River and spend a couple of hours relaxing and trying to catch a catfish, tilapia, or tigerfish.

Begin your day with a workout in the fully equipped gym located by the main entrance, before catching a refreshing dip in the sparkling swimming pool and enjoying a quick sunbathe on the comfortable sun loungers.

The Good Work Foundation (GWF) is helping to develop rural African communities through their work with “local communities and global networks.” With an ultimate aim of African people playing a role in the “fourth industrial revolution”, they are working to create “digital learning campuses, responsive programmes and demand-led social enterprises.”

The digital learning campuses will be built in regional “clusters” and will deliver “modern learning opportunities to rural and marginalised communities.” Working in tandem with the local communities, each “cluster” will be 100% powered by the community, led by 75% women, and 80% self-funded.

Inyati is partnered with the GWF and “are a major partner in establishing a digital learning centre.”

Guests of Inyati safari lodges have the opportunity to donate through a voluntary “Guest Conservation Contribution.” This donation will help go towards protecting the endangered Rhino population and will also aid the Sabi Sand Nature Conservation Trust.

Funds raised for the Sabi Sand Nature Trust will go directly to anti-poaching response teams, and will allow the trust to engage the public in the importance of conserving, rehabilitating and protecting the environment.

Inyati recognises the socio-economic issues of the Bushbuckridge areas in which they operate which is why they employ most of their staff from the local community. The staff which are employed are treated as a part of the family, and many of their staff have been with them for over 10 years.

In 2013, Inyati were the “first reserve to create a staff share scheme” which allows the staff to be shareowners and to profit from the successes of Inyati.
