The luxury property comprises of 43 rooms intelligently designed in order to blend in with the natural surroundings and all come fully equipped with modern facilities including an outdoor shower terrace, air conditioning and a safety deposit box. The design also means that all rooms have panoramic views of the valley beyond. The rooms comprise of 6 different types to cater for families, couples and single travellers.

The six Superior rooms are located on the west side of Mai Chau Ecolodge, offering bright and homely accommodation. A king-sized bed provides the comfort in the middle, with deep tones and ethnic décor on the surrounding walls. A sink area and writing desk comprises some of the fantastic bamboo furniture of the room, while the en suite bathroom opposite contains a rainfall shower. The room is finished off by the wonderful balcony and timber furniture lying at the back.

The southeast section of Mai Chau Ecolodge is reserved for the Junior deluxe rooms, each looking onto an incredible mountain vista ahead. Take in the view on the private veranda in your sun lounger, or soak it all up from inside where a king-sized bed or two twin beds sit centrally in a room décor of tribal embellishments. An en suite bathroom made of stone contains a wooden bathtub and rainfall shower, while an outdoor shower at the back brings you that little bit closer to the nature of Mai Chau.

The Deluxe rooms provides you with plenty of room to stretch out and make the most of your luxurious eco-minded accommodation in Mai Chau. The beauty of northern Vietnam is available for viewing from the king-sized double or two twin beds, but panoramas don’t get better than those available from the private veranda outside. A sink area and en suite bathroom with freestanding wooden bathtub complete the room, which is topped off by an outdoor shower made of natural stone.

Take a front row seat for Mai Chau’s vibrant spectacle, the best view in the house, stretching from the private veranda of the Suites. The sun loungers here provide an excellent chance to view the scenery ahead, as does the king-sized bed or two twin beds lying before the wide windows. An intricate décor is provided thanks to the Thai ethnic group of the neighbouring villages, while stone for the en suite bathroom and outdoor shower is provided by skilled artisans. A wooden bathtub and gorgeous, private plunge pool offer soaking options in the pristine atmosphere of Mai Chau.

The apex of 4-star green Eco-accommodation in Vietnam, the President suite occupies a class of its own. This room sits at the forefront of the action, utilising the space of a full, private bungalow and veranda to absorb the intense greenery of wild Mai Chau. Inside, a king-sized bed sits amongst gorgeous ethnic décor and delightful timber furnishings, all surrounding a social living room and bar space constructed with sturdy bamboo. A large bathroom with freestanding wooden bathtub comprises the room’s core, while an outdoor shower and private plunge pool gives you yet more ways to connect with nature.

An internal door between two deluxe rooms connects two spaces, creating a room with doubled amenities. This includes a double bed and two twin beds, two outdoor showers and two en suite bathrooms with wooden bathtubs. One conjoined balcony offers a huge space for families or groups of four adults to sink into the paradise spanning throughout Mai Chau.

The Orchid Restaurant delivers local delights in both its menu and its view. The restaurant offers set menu as well as à la carte options, covering dishes caught and grown at our doorstep. Stir-fried beef and clay pot chicken are specialties of the region, as is fish from the local rivers and delicious ethnic meals such as tom yum soup. The garden outside provides the organic herbs and spices for everything in the restaurant.

The lodge is fitted with a steam room, sauna and roman style jacuzzi for guests. The Lotus Spa offers a range of personalised treatments including foot, head, shoulder and full body massage.

Mai Chau comprises of over 500km and in this area sits neighbouring villages, local caves, such as Chieu Cave that’s also known as the “Afternoon Cave” and Hoa Binh Lake which is the largest artificial lake in Southeast Asia. Travellers come from far and wide to explore due to its vast breadth of mountains, small villages, caves, nature reserves and rice paddies.

Most materials coming from nature are renewable and are therefore used sparingly in the architecture and the sue of plastics are greatly limited. 90% of the staff at the ecolodge are hired from local villages. They keep alive their diverse traditions through local cuisine, decor and the use of traditional ethnic dress. Ingredients and materials are bought locally and workshops are offered ran by local artisan.
