Nxamaseri Island Lodge

Nxamaseri Lodge has 9 charming chalets complete with ensuite bathrooms. High thatched rooms make the room spacious and airy, and wide windows flood the area with natural light. Wooden floors and features compliment the warm colour palette, and authentic rugs make the room feel traditional and rustic. the ensuite bathroom includes wooden features and a walk in shower.

Nestled in indigenous forest the chalets all have their own private decking overlooking the sparkling water and guests can spend time unwinding here whilst watching the stunning sunset over the delta.

Dinner is served in a large communal dining area with wooden tables and chairs and open sides, so guests won’t miss any views whilst eating. The space is inviting and relaxing, guests can enjoy a pre or post dinner drink from the bar round the fire pit, toasting to the magnificent delta surroundings.

Enjoy an afternoons fly-fishing in an area well known for the large volume of Tigerfish, as well as bream and magnificent catfish. Renowned for its outstanding fishing year-round, Nxamaseri Island Lodge has available specialist guides and fully equipped boats.

Guests have the opportunity to explore the Tsodilo Hills, which are sacred to the San people of Northern Botswana. The lodge offers a guided day trip to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site hills and to marvel at the prehistoric San paintings of animals. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to immerse yourself in the culture of the area.

With a vast number of bird species in this area, Nxamaseri has the densest concentration of Fish eagle in Southern Africa. See if you can spot the Slaty Egret, White-backed Night Heron or the African Skimmer. Wide night skies unpolluted by natural light makes for magnificent star gazing. Feel delightfully disconnected and look to the skies to see if you can spot constellations that aren’t visible anywhere else.

Spend the afternoon gliding serenely though crystal clear winding waterways finding a pathway through peaceful water lilies. Keep an eye out for tiny, colourful reed frogs in traditional dug out canoes and immerse yourself in the sights, smells and sounds of the delta.

Nxamaseri Island Lodge is located in an area with traditional links to the San people. To help support this community they promote cultural cohesion through their ‘curio shop’. Here they sell artefacts and handicrafts made by members of the local communities, the proceeds of which help to fund community development projects.
