The Cotton House

The Residence is the Cotton House’s private two-bedroom suite. The Suite is tucked away upon its own hilltop offering magnificent views across L’Ansecoy Bay. Guests will have the luxury of their own large and exclusive swimming pool, as well as an outdoor shower, indoors and outdoors seating areas, and a pagoda. Both commodious bedrooms provide en-suite bathrooms, and the master bedroom has a large bath. The Residence is the perfect place for secluded relaxation and ultimate bliss.

These two storey suites are situated in the heart of the hotel’s grounds and enjoy views of the lush gardens with glimpses of the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. The upstairs of the Duplex Suite provides a master bedroom with a king size bed, en-suite bathroom, and a large private balcony. Downstairs guests will find a separate sitting room and second bedroom with en-suite bathroom, the suite also features a private plunge pool. The 2 Bedroom Duplex Suite is the ideal accommodation for couples sharing or young families.

If extensive sea views across Endeavour Bay and spacious, secluded living rooms offering views of the tropical greenery appeal to you, then your haven awaits in the form of the beautifully appointed Deluxe Rooms and Suites. Both the Rooms and Suites provide en-suite bathrooms, private plunge pools and verandas. The private outdoor spaces presented are wonderful for relaxing, sun-worshiping and intimate private dining.

The Superior Rooms and Suites are positioned in the gardens of the Cotton House, near to all hotel amenities and the main swimming pool.

The Superior Sea View Room consists of a double bedroom offering impressive views over Endeavour Bay and the neighbouring islands. The room features an elevated bathtub, an outdoor shower, and a balcony for relaxing and private dining.  Whilst the Superior Suites offer en-suite bedrooms with a separate living room and private balcony bathed in the glorious sunlight.

The Cottages are full of style and character and consist of cosy rooms. The bedrooms feature king-size or twin beds, dressing rooms and en-suite bathrooms providing walk in showers. Each room has a sitting area and opens onto a veranda furnished with lounge chairs and dining furniture. Guest can unwind under a parasol whilst soaking up the spectacular environment that the The Cotton House offers.

The long-established Veranda restaurant provides guests with the ideal setting for relaxed hospitality. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and an open bar for drinks and refreshments throughout the day.

Evenings at Veranda see a transformation, a fabulous atmosphere with small intimate tables or settings for larger, private parties. Inspired by the West Indies, Veranda’s evening menu has been created to take you on a voyage of classic and contemporary dishes using house rubs and delicately spiced marinades.

Guests will have a selection of smaller sharing plates or larger main sized dishes to choose from when dining here. Not to mention a tantalising range of flavour-packed sides, all cooked using traditional methods – smoked and grilled over flame. The gastronomy is matched with an extensive wine list that will please the most enthusiastic wine enthusiast.

For those seeking something a little less formal head to the Beach Café, situated on Endeavour Bay this relaxed restaurant and beach bar offers the perfect spot for meeting up with friends in the morning, or for long leisurely lunches under the shade of the palm trees.

A delicious new menu has been developed with known favourites including the Veg and Bean Chimichanga, perfect as a starter to share, followed by the fresh fish and lobster burger, spiced lamb kofta’s with pomegranate glaze, dukkha and sumac slaw and a homemade flat bread Fattoush salad. The Beach Café is proud to provide a delicious variety of goods for vegans too. As well as all of this, the Café is the only place to have fresh sushi on the island and homes the ever-popular Ice Cream Parlour, allowing guests to create their own Sundae too.

The Beach Café is home to ‘Cook on the Sand on Saturday Nights’, a truly interactive evening dining experience. The chefs build a fire on the beach and then cook your food over an open flame and create a feast of salads and local dishes as accompaniments. The Beach Bar is by far the best place for a relaxed daytime drink and on Friday nights host Happy hour and a half, one of Mustique’s well known social rituals.

This landmark destination is where generations of homeowners, guests, fishermen and passing yachts anchor, to watch the sun go down and enjoy the local ambiance. Basil’s Bar serves trademark thirst quenching cocktails and a delicious shoreside bar menu of freshly grilled fish & lobster, to tasty burgers and pizzas.

Happy Hour at Basil’s happens every Thursday between 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Watch one of Mustique’s iconic sunsets whilst indulging in a drink of your choice. Additionally, Basil’s world-famous ‘Wednesday Night Jump Up’ is an evening not to be skipped, and ‘Sunday Sunset Sessions’ is an opportunity to have dinner as the sun sets while listening to a variety of local musicians – the perfect way to end to a perfect week on Mustique.

The building was designed by renowned architect Oliver Messel, one of the legendary personalities who left their mark on Mustique. The Great Room Bar is one of the islands famous gathering points. Home to numerous Mustique parties over the years, it provides the perfect place to socialise with guests and homeowners of the island. Celebrated for its extensive cocktail menu, one of the largest collections of native rums in the Caribbean, and an impressive range of cigars, it is the party hub of the hotel and a popular after-dinner meeting place. On Saturday nights guests will have a chance to sample the classic ‘speakeasy’ cocktails of the 1920’s.

The Spa at Cotton House is proud to present guests with four treatment rooms and a relaxation room, paired with stunning sea views offering the perfect place to unwind after an indulgent and restorative treatment. The Spa offers a range of individually crafted treatments, from signature full body, deep tissue and de-stress massages, organic facials, and after sun care. The Spa also provides the option of treatments being enjoyed in the privacy of your own room or villa by arrangement.

Bamford’s holistic approach is in perfect harmony with Cotton House’s heartfelt connection towards nature. The exclusive treatments use specially formulated products from the Bamford body and skincare collections, made from natural and organic ingredients.

Additionally, usage of the Cotton House gym, equipped with a multi-gym, treadmills, stationary bikes, a stair stepper, and free weights is complimentary to all hotel guests.

Visit the stunning marine conservation park at Tobago Cays, a pristine group of uninhabited islands offering an unmatched place to picnic – and where Johnny Depp was famously marooned in The Pirates of the Caribbean. After you will have the chance to swim with the hawksbill turtles over the vibrant reef.  You will also get to explore the charming neighbouring islands of Bequia, Canouan, Palm, Union and Petit St. Vincent too.

Plus, Mustique recently commissioned ‘The Lady Anne’, a Bowen 38 ft cruise boat available for sunset cruises, private charters, and trips to the neighbouring islands.

There is an abundance of water sports available on the island from scuba diving to snorkelling and windsurfing to Hobie Cat sailing. The island homes a well-stocked Water Sports Centre located on Endeavour Bay, where a choice from boogie boards and windsurfers, stand up paddle boards or snorkels and fins are available for a day of exploring the reefs beneath the sea. The equipment can even be booked and arranged to be dropped off at your favourite beach.

“The island has established a range of services for the local community including a primary school, medical clinic, library and thriving church community. The Primary School has over 300 students aged from five to eleven who are taught by local and international teachers whilst a range of adult education programmes are taught in the community centre to encourage employment both on the island and further afield.”

“With enthusiastic philanthropic goals the island wanted to do something for the local community of Mustique and St Vincent and the Grenadines and in 2008 the Mustique Charitable Trust was formed. Financed by donations from the Mustique Company, villa owners and guests, the Trust has helped the children, youths and vulnerable adults of St. Vincent & the Grenadines with housing initiatives, educational programmes, grants and bursaries to universities in the region and abroad.”

“A specially formed Environmental Programme and Committee has been created to protect the Conservation area and the pristine environment of the island. The committee, made up of villa owners and the island management, oversees the establishment and implementation of marine and land-based conservation projects, from turtle tagging and monitoring to responsible fishing, and most importantly educating future generations about the importance of island conservation.

Much of the island remains undeveloped leaving great swathes of natural habitat for the local wildlife. Some of the roads have been left as dirt tracks to minimize the footprint, and a comprehensive recycling programme has been initiated ensuring that all waste is environmentally treated and recycled.”

Turtles

“These magnificent creatures are an enchanting sight, whether shuffling through the sand to lay their eggs in the cool dunes, or playfully gliding through the water as you snorkel side by side. Mustique’s Turtle project is affiliated with Widecast, a specialist marine conservation group, which is dedicated to protecting the turtles within the Caribbean Sea and to raising awareness for their preservation.

The two types of turtle most commonly found in the Caribbean are the Hawksbill and the Leatherback. Our resident island guides regularly patrol the beaches, monitoring egg laying, and safely relocating nests to nurture hatchlings, before they are ready to leave for the safety of the water. During the nesting season of May to October guests are invited to get involved and may be lucky enough to see a nesting or a hatchling release during their stay.”

Lobsters

“Lobster fishing is prohibited between May and August, during the spawning season, to preserve their numbers. Please help us and our precious resources and do not buy lobster from the fishermen during this period.”
