The Ocean View Villas are 79 Sq.m and situated on the upper part of the property and offer views across the Gulf of Thailand. The Beachfront Villas offer an ocean view with direct access to the soft, white sandy beach. The room is 79 Sq.m. The Ocean View Pool Villas offer considerably more space with 147 Sq.m, with the addition of their very own pool. Like the Ocean View Villas, they feature a spacious bedroom and bathroom with indoor and outdoor rain showers, bathtub, a sofa and outdoor ‘sala’ lounge area. Rooms are cool & comfortable with all the latest creature comforts including a Super King-size bed, personal swimming pool (10m x 3.5m x 1.2m) and LED 49” smart TV. A table and chairs are set up on the outdoor terrace.

The Beachfront Pool Villas are situated at the front of the resort and overlook the beach. 147 Sq.m in size they feature a spacious bedroom and bathroom with indoor and outdoor rain showers, bathtub, a personal swimming pool, sofa and outdoor ‘sala’ lounge area. Rooms are cool & comfortable with all the latest creature comforts including a Super King-size bed, personal swimming pool (10m x 3.5m x 1.2m), LED 49” smart TV and minibar. A table and chairs are set up on the outdoor terrace.

The ultimate luxury retreat, these units offer two identical villas (312 sq.m) for yourselves & your friends or family. Sok San Bay offers a stunning underwater panorama. The beach boys will direct you to the best spots. They’ll also be happy to act as a guide or teacher. Buoyancy vests are available for inexperienced swimmers. Some of the best areas for snorkelling are around the jetty and the rocks at the corner of the beach, but a half-hour stroll from the resort is a reef we’ve called “Khmer Garden”. Guides are readily available if you’re the slightest bit unsure about how to get there.

Cambodia remains one of the diving world’s best kept secrets and Koh Rong’s crystal-clear waters offer the perfect location. Its many reefs provide dozens of shallow dive sites with little or no current. This makes Koh Rong’s waters some of the safest on Earth. Access to these dive sites is just a few minutes by boat and a world of discovery awaits. An abundance of marine life can be enjoyed, including coral, sponges, specialist flat worms, colourful nudibranchs and a dizzying array of tropical fish.  The Royal Sands Koh Rong has its own PADI Dive Centre headed up by Activity Manager, Lionel Bonnett. Koh Rong might be a famed beach destination, but the island’s interior of jungle, mangrove and savannah is well worth exploring. The resort recommend seeing it by kayak or while you fish. Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) is ideal for strengthening the muscles of the core and is one of the world’s fastest growing fitness trends. Rental includes life jacket.

One of the most adventurous ways to explore the island is by bike. Pick one up at the Activity Centre. The resorts knowledgeable team will explain everything you need to know. Guides are available for the more challenging routes.

Bioluminescent plankton is a wonder of nature and is not to be missed during your stay at The Royal Sands Koh Rong. The resorts pristine bay provides the perfect conditions for one of the ocean’s strangest natural phenomena. Your guide will accompany you into the shallows for an experience you will never forget.

The resort have implemented solar energy as much as possible, including the lights for all their walk ways as well as lighting of plants and trees and for the pier. At this present time, they can not use the solar energy to run air-conditioning systems and machinery at the back of the house and in the kitchen, as they consume too much electricity. However, in the future, as technology improves, the resort will strive to be more reliant on green energy.

The  Resort has its own proper waste water treatment plant installed. This should become a requirement for both existing and future resorts as well as for all residential and commercial developments on the Island. This will go along way to preserving the beautiful Islands. A drinking water bottling plant with recyclable glass bottles have been commissioned for this resort. Thus allowing them to eliminate use of plastic bottles

The resort have purchased a special beach cleaning tractor and trailer which they use twice daily to clean up all rubbish swept onto the shore by the sea. Such rubbish is collected by them and then burnt in the resorts own incinerator leaving only a small amount of metal which they can export back to the mainland for processing.
