White Bay Villas and Cottages

The Plantation Villa was originally built by White Bay Villas’ owner as his own residence. The massive villa features 5 unique bedrooms which each have their own charm. For example, the master suite includes a private romantic patio, and from the tower bedroom, guests may climb a ladder that will bring them to the private observation tower. The plantation villa can cater for a group of 10 guests.

Its spacious layout and 5 bathrooms give guests plenty of room even when staying with a large group of friends or family. The kitchen is fully stocked with a microwave, stove, oven, blender, coffee maker and french press, as well as a full-size fridge/freezer. All dishes, cutlery and drink ware are provided. The kitchen leads to a large deck that offers views over the bay. Out on the deck, guests will find barbecue facilities as well as a large dining table for enjoying meals together. The villa is nestled amongst a collection of fruit trees, which guests are free to help themselves too.

The East Sunset Villa is positioned at the edge of the island, offering dramatic views of the jagged rocks and frothing ocean below. Guests will be able to enjoy looking at the vast stretches of the ocean, and the distant islands of Tortola, Saint John and Saint Thomas from the villa’s many viewing points or cliffside garden area. Sunset villa east can cater for up to 6 guests, with two bedrooms and a double futon that can be set up in the living room, which also features a flatscreen TV and stereo.

The elevated master bedroom includes a queen-size bed, large windows that show beautiful ocean views and an en-suite bathroom with a very large bathtub. The second bedroom also features large windows and a queen-size bed, however, its en-suite bathroom is more modest. All bedrooms include air-conditioning and ceiling fans to keep the climate comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with a microwave, stove, oven, blender, coffee maker and french press, as well as a full-size fridge/freezer. Guests can also use the barbecue provided outside on the grass patio area. Outside, you will also find a private gazebo with stunning sea views.

Sunset Villa West is ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway. The bedroom features a living area, including a flatscreen TV and stereo, as well as a sprawling queen-size bed. Both air-conditioning and ceiling fans are provided to help maintain a comfortable climate. As with the other villas, there is a fully stocked kitchen that provides guests with a microwave, stove, oven, blender, coffee maker and french press, as well as a full-size fridge/freezer. Out on the porch, guests can find a barbeque area with a table and chairs and two chaise lounges for lying back and relaxing after a delicious meal.

The Hideaway is a villa positioned on a hillside plateau, where guests can enjoy a private stay, secluded amongst the green tropical plants. The hideaway can cater for up to 6 guests, making it ideal for families and small groups. The green paintwork of the villa helps it to blend into the surrounding nature, and guests can enjoy the stunning views below of the beautiful gardens and ocean. White Bay’s idyllic beach is just a five-minute walk from the villa.

The hideaway consists of 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The other two rooms feature queen-size beds and one of them also has its own en-suite bathroom. The main area includes a fully stocked kitchen and leads out to a large outdoor patio with panoramic views over the bay and ocean.

The 4 Hillside Villas offer guests an elevated view over White Bay and the rolling hills of Jost Van Dyke. Each of the hillside villas features 2 bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen and a spacious living/dining area with flatscreen TVs and stereos. The upper level of the villa is where guests will find the master bedroom, along with a large bathroom that consists of a huge bathtub, large vanity and sunken shower stall.

The lower level of the villa features the second bedroom, which has a separate entrance and leads out to a private patio, and another bathroom with an oversized shower. Both rooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans to keep the climate comfortable. The villa has a large patio area outside where guests can kick back and relax in the double hammock, listening to the sounds of birdsong and ocean waves.

The 8 Paradise Villas are scattered across the hillside that overlooks the white crescent of the bay, and the sloping island hills. Take in the sweeping views of lush greenery and the endless sea from the shade of your covered patio. The paradise villas feature one bedroom with a king-size bed and queen-size sofa bed, and can cater for a total of three adults or two adults and two children. The bedroom also includes a flatscreen TV, stereo and a ceiling fan to help keep the temperature comfortable.

Leading on from the bedroom is a large en-suite bathroom. As with the other villas, the kitchen is fully stocked and includes a microwave, stove, oven, blender, coffee maker and french press, as well as a full-size fridge/freezer. All dishes, cutlery and drink ware are provided. Out on the patio, guests can enjoy grilling delicious barbecue meals. Sit and eat around the large table, with the soothing sea breeze and views of the bay and surrounding natural beauty.

The 3 Seaside Cottages are positioned closest to the beach and offer stunning views of the ocean and harbour. The outdoor decking area features cosy hammocks and seating areas – perfect for enjoying a romantic meal under the starlight. The decking area also gives an incredible vantage point for watching the sun dip behind the ocean, turning the horizon golden as it does. The bedroom includes a queen-size bed with soft sheets, as well as ceiling fans and air-conditioning in order to keep the temperature comfortable.

In the living room, guests can enjoy listening to the stereo or watching something on the flatscreen TV. The living room also features a comfy day bed for relaxing on. As with the villas, the seaside cottages include a fully stocked kitchen with a microwave, stove, oven, blender, coffee maker and french press, as well as a full-size fridge/freezer. Outside, guests can also use the barbecue grill to conjure up delicious meals.

All of the cottages and villas feature fully stocked kitchens that allow guests to self-cater and dine in. You can also arrange for the fridge to be fully stocked before your arrival. In addition, White Bay Villas and Cottages have a professional chef who can be reserved to cook in your villa. White Bay has a wide variety of restaurants and bars along the waterfront, meaning that guests will have a selection of dinner choices every evening.

Glide along the crystal ocean water and explore White Bay on a paddleboard. Pass over incredible marine life and watch the fish weave between colourful coral reefs as you float above them. Enjoy an afternoon at one of the best beaches to visit, as voted by Forbes in 2019.

The Bubbly Pool is tucked away behind the rugged cliffs that overlook the ocean to the north. The natural pool acts as a natural jacuzzi, filling with bubbles when the tide comes rushing in, the rock formation surrounding the pool breaks the surf and creates a relaxing bubble pool. Enjoy this unique and exciting experience, with the backdrop of the foaming waves. To reach the bubbly pool, guests can enjoy a hike and a small amount of amateur rock climbing.

Get closer to marine life and travel under the water to search for exciting creatures such as tarpon, parrotfish, triggerfish and squids. Glide through the water and enjoy this otherworldly environment. Guests can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the ocean. The clean and clear waters of White Bay offers great visibility, and lucky guests may even be able to spot a sea turtle.

Explore Jost Van Dyke’s surrounding islands by travelling across the sea on the ferry. Guests will be able to make daily trips from Great Harbour to West End on Tortola. Enjoy the historical district of Tortola where you will find a collection of museums and the site of an old Dutch fort. Guests will be able to enjoy a day trip to the island once frequented by pirates, before returning back to Jost Van Dyke in the afternoon.

Travel across the newly built roads of Jost Van Dyke that connect parts of the island which were previously inaccessible by car. Rent a Jeep and explore the local villages and sites. Guests will be able to enjoy the diverse landscape and experience the island as a whole. Meet local people, look out at the beautiful viewpoints, and enjoy wandering around this idyllic setting.

Rent a dinghy and paddle across the ocean waters. Lose yourself in the vast sea, and visit Jost Van Dyke’s neighbouring islands. Guests can enjoy a range of activities such as hiking on new land, visiting towns across the sea, and snorkelling out in open waters.

Step into the shoes of the classic explorers by sailing across the sea. Imagine life as a pirate, exploring uncharted waters as you drift where the ocean breeze takes you.

Explore the many nature trails of Jost Van Dyke and discover hidden parts of the island. Guests will be able to enjoy quiet and exclusive walks along the 18-acres of White Bay Villas’ private land, or venture beyond and experience the further reaches of the island. Enjoy the tropical plant life, and look out for stunning vantage points that offer beautiful ocean and island views.

Reel in kingfish, triggerfish, and yellowtail snappers that lurk around the British Virgin Islands. Guests are free to cast their lines from the comfort of the shore, where an abundance of fish awaits. You can also request to be taken out on a boat and catch tuna and marlins out by the coastal shelf. Enjoy a calming afternoon by the soothing water, taking in the tranquil atmosphere of Jost Van Dyke. White Bay Villas and Cottages’ central location means that guests are able to choose from a number of fishing hotspots.

White Bay Villas and Cottages has run petitions to encourage the local government to upgrade and repair the ferry terminals at Great Harbour after the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017. Their efforts to support the replacement of the buildings destroyed by the hurricane are beneficial to local people as inter-island travel is crucial for business owners, local people and tourists. This has an impact on the economy of the British Virgin Islands as tourists will want to know that they can get around easily. Pushing for the government to rebuild these facilities is important for the local community, especially those who are dependent on tourism for receiving an income.

White Bay Villas is working to become an off-the-grid establishment. When it was initially set up, not all of Jost Van Dyke had access to electricity yet, and so John Klein, White Bay Villas and Cottages’ owner, set up solar panels and storage batteries to provide electricity to the villas. This reduces carbon emissions as the villas are powered with clean and renewable energy. White Bay Villas also use rainfall catchment practices to reduce their water consumption.
