Cuña Pirú Lodge

The cabins at Cuña Pirú are spacious and cosy, with a bedroom area, living area, kitchen, bathroom, and expansive terrace immersed in the heart of the forest. Comfortable double beds are covered in crisp bed linens and cosy pillows for guests’ comfort, and wide windows throughout the cabin fill the space with natural and bright light. The kitchen is fully equipped and comes complete with a minibar – so guests can cater for themselves. After a long day exploring the forest guests can unwind with a gentle swing in their hammock, closing their eyes and breathing in the fresh air – truly immersing themselves in nature.

For a truly unique experience, guests can stay in the Tree Rooms at Cuña Pirú. These rooms are the same as the Cabins except they are high in the treetops and are accessed by a wooden staircase. A queen-size bed offers guests a comfortable night’s sleep under crisp bed linens, and the room also comes complete with a bathroom, living room, terrace and kitchen – which includes a minibar. Guests can unwind on the terrace, getting lost staring through the tree tops and truly immersing themselves in the beautiful nature.

Perfect for families, the Double Rooms are expansive and comfortable. The beds are covered with crisp and cosy bed linens and the room is filled with bright and natural light. The natural wood cabin is filled with local and colourful ornaments which add character. The Double Rooms come complete with their own bathroom and a terrace which stretches along the front of the cabin, where guests can unwind and gaze over their stunning surroundings after a long day spent exploring.

Guests can enjoy meals in the main lodge. Head here for a fresh breakfast and delicious gourmet dinners made with fresh ingredients. If the weather is good guests can enjoy eating outside on the decking or around the swimming pool, in the middle of the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest.

There are countless attractions to see in the nearby area. The ancient Guarani rainforest is full of hidden gems just waiting to be found by guests. Spend your days wandering through the jungle – immersing yourself in the wilderness. Visit nearby yerba mate and tea factories and see how these local products are produced. Visits to the nearby Mbyá Guarani Communities can be arranged for guests who wish to learn more about the local culture.

The forest is also full of hidden history and guests can hike to the ruins of San Ignacio – an old Jesuit settlement. There are many waterfalls guests may stumble on during their treks through the forest or guests may wish to make their way to Salto Encantado, Iguazu Falls, or the spectacular Saltos del Moconá – which is slightly further out, on the border with Brazil.

Cuña Pirú Lodge tries to promote responsible practices and environmental engagement in all areas of the lodge. A large effort has gone into preserving and protecting the culture of the communities around the lodge. The design of the hotel follows regional construction guidelines, is made with natural materials from the area and blends into the landscape. The lodge is filled with ornaments and decorations from a local firm which promotes ethical and fair work. Many of the lodges’ excursions and tours are designed and led by local tour guides who know the area. The knowledge they share will deepen guests’ understanding of the importance of conservation.
