Rangala Waterfall Trek
Hidden away from the world’s eye, somewhere in the depths of the Knuckles forest reserve, is a beautiful waterfall. Trek along a distance of 14km for a duration of around 4 to 5 hours with your guide through the refreshing lush green forest enjoying the richness of the flora.
Commence at 6 am and leave your luxury haven with the first rays of the sun and make your way through the terraced tea plantations before you enter the extravagance of the green forests of the Knuckles Range. Trekking through a moderately challenging trail leads you to a waterfall humming in peaceful solitude, lost in the middle of rich verdure.

Guided Jungle Night Walk
Join one of our resident naturalists for a night walk in the forests surrounding the lodge, and have a chance to see some of our nocturnal neighbours as they emerge from their daily resting spots. Use a torch to spot eyes peering back at you that could belong to a number of different animals including amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds. One of the highlights is a chance to spot the bizarre looking Frog Mouth bird or if you are really lucky the endangered thick-tailored Pangolin.
The following morning after breakfast at the resort, go on a unique Boat safari with a naturalist. Return to the resort afterwards and spend the day at leisure.
Guided Boat Safari
Enjoy the only experience in Sri Lanka that allows you to spot wildlife from the water. It’s a unique way to immerse yourself in the animals’ habitats. With a little luck you could spot elephants swimming between islands or bathing at the lake’s edge. A 2-3 hour safari by boat, and a scenic 40 minute drive from the lodge to the lake is perfect to explore the national park and surrounding villages

Monkey Mountain Trekking
For the adventurous early risers, a 1.5 hour uphill trek first thing in the morning is a must. Up top, dramatic 180 degree views over the large forested valley await. An early start allows you to watch the sun rise over the hills in the distance, observing the never ending jungle canopy below. After you’ve finished, return for a well-earned breakfast and enjoy the rest of your day

Jeep Safari Yala National Park
Yala National Park is the second largest, yet most famous national park in Sri Lanka. Yala is famous for its high concentration of leopards in the world. In its essence, the park consists of shrub jungle with rock outcrops along with several fresh water and salt water lagoons. Some of the most prominent sightings in Yala are of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, sambar, spotted deer, jackals, wild boar and buffaloes, langur and macaque monkeys. Yala is also famous for its bird life. There are around 130 species of birds that have been spotted at the premises including black necked stork, sandpipers, pelicans, egrets, hoopoes, parakeets and bulbuls. One could spot peacocks as soon as they enter the park unlike the evasive jungle fowl, the national bird of Sri Lanka.

Enjoy the breakfast at the resort and proceed to Mirissa (approx. 3hrs). En route, visit Rekhawa turtle hatchery. Check in at the resort and spend the afternoon at leisure.
Rekhawa Turtle Hatchery
Rekawa Turtle watch, situated on beachfront just a few kilometres east of the town of Tangalle. The best time to see turtles is between January & April; periods when there’s a full moon. A part full moon is good too throughout the year, because there are both more turtles & more light to see them by. Rekawa has recorded 23 turtles in one night.

Whale Watching Ocean Safari
Just off the coast of Sri Lanka, swims the majestic blue whale, the largest creature on earth. Nowhere in the world is it possible to see these ocean giants so close to shore than in Weligama. Ocean Safaris presents the opportunity to see blue whales along with sperm whales, false orcas, playful spinner and bottlenose dolphins and turtles in their natural environment
Ocean Safaris offer exclusive private boats, giving you the opportunity to enjoy your trip in comfort and away from the hustle and bustle of the overcrowded public boats. The boats are fast and can take you to the shipping lanes (where the whales and dolphins are) in about half an hour. Along the way you’ll see other marine life; sea turtles, flying fish, pods of spinner dolphins and much more.
